Default Diablosport Trinity finally available

Been out of touch for a few weeks but every once in a while I check the Diablo page to see if they support the 2013 Dodges yet and low and behold today they do.

$599 for those interested...

I have heard for years the benefits of a high performance aftermarket chip. I never really understood the concept. Can anyone explain a little more about the benefits? Looks like this device with flash and reprogram the chip to give more horsepower and better mileage. Is that the sole benefit? One thing that I don't understand is that if there is a way to give the Durango more power, why doesn't Dodge program the chip in the first place? Seems like they would like to be able to advertise better horsepower and better mileage.

Another point is that it seems like you upgrade your chip, and then remove this Trinity devise. Seems like there might be some high performance ships out there that might make the change for a fee rather than purchasing this Trinity devise.

Is there anything that can help tighten up the shifting points? More specifically there is a substantial delay from the time that I step on the gas to the point that it realizes it should downshift.

FYI, I have a 2013 Durango R/T.

I won't go into much detail but for newer vehicles you want a programmer, not a chip. Chips send static signals to the PCM (computer) and can cause damage to your car. A programmer modifies the program in your vehicles computer so it's like it came from the factory.

So I understand the diablosport tuner has a "max MPG' setting as well as performance settings. Does anyone know what the mpg gains would be on a '13 R/T? They have a leftover at the local lot that's been there for months.

I have been in contact with a shop here in NJ who has is going to install into my SXT for $435.00 all-in. Not sure if the price is different for the R/T, but I would check into that rate again. Seems pretty expensive from what I have been seeing.

Sounds good and I am glad to hear about the performance side of it. Has he had any problems with it, engine or otherwise? I get a little paranoid when it comes to programmers and engine mods . I don't want it to void my warranty. How long has your buddy been running it and what does it exactly entail? I little novice when it comes to things like this - kinda feel like this guy when it comes to things like this - let me know

He's been running it for at least a month now. I want to mention he's running a CAI too in conjunction to the Hypertech. He's still seeing improved over stock MPG's and considerable amount of power increase (already had the intake installed prior). I wouldn't know if he's planning on obtaining dyno numbers for proof or anything. But considering he's a well knoweldged mechanic and professional gear head, he's saying no hiccups/glitches or problems at all between the Hypertech, his PCM or the car in general.
