Default 99 Durango factory tow package wiring help needed

I picked up my Durango a month ago. It had the factory tow package but the PO removed the trailer hitch and cut the wiring right beside the spare tire. I have another hitch (not factory like I wanted but was cheap) I am going to put back on. I planned on using a common 4 pin trailer plug, but cant find any info on how to wire it up. I would go back with the factory 7 round pin, but they are expensive and I don't have a place on the hitch to mount it (don't want it hanging way down below the hitch). Any help on the wiring or directions on how to wire up the flat 4 pic plug is appreciated...thanks

Do you have your owners manual? There is a page in it which shows the color codes
for the wiring. Which color wire turns on which light ----
If there is enough pigtail left from where they cut the wiring so that you can see the colors.
All you need are: Brake, Left turnsignal, right turnsignal, and the ground. If you bought a new connector package, it will have a matching color code instruction.
Let us know what you have, and we can add further info.
The less preferred method will be to take the taillight housings off, look at the color codes of the wires there, feed the correct color code wire from the 4-pin plug up thru a body hole inside the taillight location and attach the correct wires to the factory
light wires using 3M Scotch-Lok connectors. If you have never used them, have the
auto parts store show you, since these are a one-time use device!
There are also blogs on facebook to show you how to do this. Check them out!
