Default 2014 Durango Fuel Pump Failure at 60K miles?

So, my wife has a 2014 Durango Citadel 5.7L 2wd with 62,808 miles on it. Yesterday it started missing and hesitating while driving and the CEL came on. I used my EFI Live stuff to pull the codes and got P0174 (Fuel Sytem Lean Bank 2), P0171 (Fuel System Lean Bank 1), and P0300 (Random Misfire). Due to the mileage I brought it to a dealership on the hope that it was something still covered under the power train or emissions warranty. It was not. The dealer advised that it needed new fuel pumps for the grand total of $1800.00. So I figured that I would just do it myself and I will be damned, the primary pump cost $450 and the secondary is like $550. I don't think the fueling system on my 600 whp Trans Am cost that much. Jesus Age Christ!! You have got to be kidding me!!

Is this a common issue on these things? Loosing fuel pumps at 60K miles? The fact that they are literally sitting on the shelves at every damn MOPAR dealer probably answers that question.

Has anyone replaced them? Doesn't look too bad...drop the exhaust and the drive shaft from what I can see.

I really like the truck but....man. No trying to start a brand pissing match but not sure if this or any other FCA product will be gracing my driveway if this what I can expect from it. Other stuff breaks for sure but I can say with ALL confidence that i have never paid $1000 for a Chevy/GMC fuel pump.

Any feedback advice would be appreciated. Thanks.

It's a low percentage but it does happen just like with any other make/model. One thing to remember is not to let the tank get below 1/4 to 3/8s if you can as the gas cools the pump as it's running and the lower the gas level the warmer the pump runs so the shorter the life.
