Default 2011 durango starting problems

so my 11 Durango 3.6l is driving me crazy! I'm having problems with it starting. it runs fine if it starts. for the most part the problem is it cranks, fires briefly then fails. sometimes won't fire at all until a few attempts. I changed fuel injectors, coil packs and spark plugs which led to no improvement. the battery is only 2 years old and tests fine. same for the alternator. (14.3v)
if I cycle the key switch before starting it fires every time without fail which led me to believe fuel pump problems (check valve failure)
I purchased a $70 pump on a Tuesday with the intention of changing it on the weekend only to have it towed on Friday because of fuel pump failure. now this lead me to believe I was on the right track. it started fine the first few times but reverted back to the s.o.sh. so I replaced it with a $300 pump and much to my dismay, I still have this problem. if you've made it to the end of this post and have any ideas I would greatly appreciate it.
and if anyone needs any tips on how to change any of the afore mentioned parts, I'm your man. thanks

Hi..I had the same issue on my 2012 Dodge Durango. It keeps on cranking but won't turnover. I had to try multiple times before it starts the engine. Until one day, my Durango stopped cranking and would not start. I just changed the Fuel Pump Relay. This is what i bought:

turned out to be my PCV valve. I'm an industrial maintenance electrician with 20 years of experience and changed my first transmission at 16 years old. I'm no stranger to turning a wrench and I would advise anyone to consider paying to have this done if your 3.6 is rear/all wheel drive. I never thought I would say that but this one was a BITCH!

Default Give Me a Hint

Where exactly is the PVC valve and how does this cause the starting issue?

I saw one PCV at Ebay for $65. My Durango is still having starting problems. Sometimes it's good, sometimes it starts then dies. But, when I press the key switch twice (RUN position), I can hear the fuel pump in the back working then when I press key switch one more, it starts and it has never failed when I do this. Do I need to get a mechanic to replace the PCV Valve? Is that something I can easily access to replace?
