Hard downshifts. Shifts and feels like it lurches forward. disconcerting especially 2 to 1 at stops. Uphill 8 to 7 stays in 7 for miles after level road reached. 2 reflashes at Dealer. No fix. 92,000 on truck. ZF says fluid and filter at 80,000 - 100,000. Anybody else have this??
I have the same issues as you. The trans, when cold, hesitates shifting from 1 - 2 out of the driveway. Then, for quite a while, is slow to shift down to 1 from 2 when coming to a stop. The most troublesome issue is when the trans takes a long time to shift from 2 - 1 after coming to a more sudden or abrupt stop from a higher speed, like when you have to slow down rapidly on the highway due to a backup; that downshift occurs after you have stopped moving and feels like you were hit from behind. I have had the software flash and relearn done in November. Two-thousand miles later, the problem has not gone away. I do most work on my cars myself, including rebuilding transmissions in older cars; I think the valve body needs repair or replacement. The Durango has 90,000 miles with 10,000 left on the factory warranty, so I am anxious to let the dealer fix it instead of me. It goes in on Monday for a return diagnosis. I will keep you posted.
Moparzornocarz, I performed the NAG1 reset on the Durango Sat. Sunday it seemed to have cured 90+% of the problems. The NAG1 reset is removing the fuse for the TCM for 5 - 10 minutes. Then replace the fuse and drive the vehicle. Seems to have done what I expected. I'll post as I get more miles on the vehicle.
Ditto results on the fuse pull - only minor shifting correction for a day or two. With regards to my second service visit, the tech said they really can't find anything wrong because the car is not throwing any codes. Even though that shifting hesitation is there and noticeable, it is not "a problem." So, they forced a full trans relearn and sent me on my merry way. We are now in the single digit temperatures in my area, so I do not expect the trans to be very happy after starting the car and nothing is warmed up. I am not sure what my next steps will be.
