Can't say for sure but if your vehicle has the MDS (cylinder deactivation), removing the resonators usually causes a bad drone when it kicks into 4 cylinder mode.
Could be but I don't know. I know on some of the cars (Challengers, Chargers) people have removed the mufflers & gone straight pipe to make it louder & left the resonators in place to kill the drone.
Unfortunately this place has died off so someone else may or may not chime in on this.

the mufflers and resonators are different part numbers for the R/T and the Citadel.
I found the part numbers:
Muffler & Tailpipe: R/T 68276639 Citadel 68276625
Resonators: R/T 68276640AA Citadel 68276626AA
