Yes. I am going to customize my heat to an SRT6 standards. I have made some luxury upgrade that i can make so far.

What does everyone think about this idea?

Its going to take me a year or two customize it as a factory SRT6 durango.

Have you found a supercharger that can work with the 3.6 Penastar Engine yet? If so, let me know cause I'm looking for one also.

BTW, the last SRT6 made, the Crossfire SRT6 has a supercharger on it. Most non SRT owners are not aware of that. Plus, since the computer is still hasn't been cracked yet (diablosport is still working on it), if you do any major changes performance wise, be aware that either the check engine light will come on or will not get the full potential of your Heat.

Suspension wise... and you want to keep it MOPAR, go with the set up on the Durango R/T. That handles exactly like the '06-'10 Charger R/T and the '11 Charger R/T (all except Road & Track package... that has the '06-'10 Charger SRT8 suspension)

To start, go with exhaust. I don't know what type of headers, if any, you can get for the Penastar engine. As for the exhaust, a lot of the V6 owners swear on Flowmaster and Borla.

Hope this helps you out some.

Personally, I say do it! When you do get it done let the SRT guys know about it. A lot of SRT owners have been mentioning in not some many ways that they need to bring the SRT6 back (they don't make a V6 engine yet, the Crossfire was just a Compressor AMG that was rebadged as a SRT6 when Daimler owned Chrysler). If you are going to make it a SRT6... go all out. I know a couple of places you can do to get the headrests done to say "SRT6" if you want to go that way, or you can just go with the current SRT seats that have "SRT" in the middle of the seat. As for a custom engine cover.... 3GCustomz . com makes a custom Penastar engine cover. That should help you out some. Good luck and keep all of us posted!!!

I thought the heat came with the same suspension as the R/T just not the 5.7L HEMI. Thanks for all of the advice. Mopar sells custom katskin interior in which you can badge the head rest. I have added a sunroof and remote starter (Mopar) to my heat. Yes, i am waiting on someone to manufactur a supercharger and than i will have Mopar install it. I found some giovanna wheels that look like it will come on an SRT model as well. 22" gloss black. The next thing that i am going to get is the custom katskin leather interrior (White) with the Mopar heated seats. I am working on all the bells and whistles on the inside prior to getting down to the good stuff. Borla does have a cat-back exhaust kit but no headers, yet.

To be honest. I love th R/T durango and i would have bought one in 11' if the dealers had one for sale at the time. Owning a heat is a blank canvas to customizing at your full potential (If aftermarket companies help me out).

I think i would have more fun with it.

Thanks for all of the tips...

No sweat. I'm not 100% sure on the Heat and R/T having the same suspension. I only test drove the R/T. That's how I know it handles like the LX Charger R/T. As for changing wheel size. Get with the dealer first to make sure they won't overcharge you for going into the puter and change it so it knows that you have 22"s on there now. You can seriously mess up your transmission if you don't do that.

As for having a supercharger installed... I wouldn't go with MOPAR(dealership). They can either overcharge you or just not know what they are doing. Best bet is to go with one of the MOPAR performance shops like Arrlington, HPP, or even Speedfactory. Only thing is that they all gear mostly to the HEMI and not the V6; however, if you talk to them, they might give it a try since no one has done what you are planing on doing before...

You could of had them order the R/T for you. That's what I have to do to get mine.

I think there is a lot of work performance wise that you will need to do to get anywhere close to being able to call it an SRT. Even then it won't be a true SRT. It's my personal opinion, but if it didn't come from the factory as an SRT then it shouldn't be badged as one later. No matter what mods you do to it.

As for the suspension of the 06 Charger RT with R&T package.... that is not the SRT suspension. It comes with the self leveling Nivomats on the rear. The SRT doesn't. It has bilstien shocks and stiffer springs.

I was talking about the '11 R/T (Road & Track) and my '06 SRT8.
Sorry, I misunderstood.
