Hello.....I have a 2005 Durango 5.7. When I turn the A/C on the clutch pulley, that is on the compressor, makes a repetitive clicking sound. It seems to go away when I accelerate but comes back at idle. Any ideas? Thanks
Most often this is caused by low freon pressure. The compressor will kick on and suck the freon down causing the low pressure cut off to stop the compressor. As soon as the compressor stops, the suction pressure comes back up and the compressor kicks on again. It could also be a plugged dryer.
Have it checked by a qualified AC shop.
