If the blower motor stays running, I would check for a vacuum leak. The diverter door that directs the air to the dash, floor or windshield is vacuum operated.
I would have imagined the setup to be the same on the 07 Aspen as it is on the 07 Durango. On my Aspen, the mode door is controlled by a reversible actuator/stepper motor. I wish is was vac controlled.
