HVAC Only Blowing through Defrost Vents

I have an 02 Durango. Lately the HVAC is only blowing through the defrost vents. When I turn the switch to a different vent location, I can hear a slight popping noise for a second... but the air will continue blowing through defrost. I just replaced the blower motor resister (because the air would only blow on high). I've read that it could be a blender door or vacuum pressure issue, but I honestly don't know where to start with those.
Any Advice would be greatly appreciated!
