I have a 2011 Durango with the 730N unit. I want to play music from a flash drive plugged into the USB port in the console. Anyone have any tips? All of my music files are in MP4 format...will that matter? Any advice is greatly appreciated :)

I think you can put the files in folders on the thumbdrive and then your radio will allow you to root in the folders for your music. I would first try MP3.

@ mm2011ddc - I have over 32GB of music... It will not even hold all of the contacts out of my phone :( I will try the USB and post an update with anything I find.

Hmm... you have your phone contacts in the radio? Mine will only use the contacts directly from the phone (or so I think). Might that be a difference betweent he 730 and 430 radios?

If that's not a typo, the radio does not play MP4 files. The filetypes are listed in the manual.

You need to take your Durango to the dealer and they should install a software update. I had the same problem, I got a message that the device could not be found.

I find that if individual songs are seperated on the flash instead of albums it will operate smoother.
Seems to many folder layers mess up the directory search.
