Push Button Start question

Is the push button start an optional feature, or is it standard? I just bought my 2012 yesterday, but you have to stick the key fob in the dash to start it. My sales guy said it's probably not programed for the button, but he seemed unsure and really didn't want to ask anyone.

Maybe it depends on the model you purchased. Which one did you get? My R/T came with push button and remote start.
I got the SXT with a few added options. I only ask because the other SXT I drove had it, yet the window sticker mentioned nothing about it.
Welcome to the Z from NC! I think you'll find it comes with certain convenience packages. You could probably get it installed but I think it requires another module for it to work.
Welcome from Texas.

I didn't get the sxt because the one I looked at didn't have it the proximity fob and push button start. I purchased a crew because it comes with the keyless enter n go option. The proximity fob works to enter the car. When the salesman was showing me all the options before I drove away I was stunned to see him take the fob and stick it in the ignition. I asked him where the push button start was and he said this doesn't have it (it came from another dealership). He said he though it could be installed. I said oh I thought it had it, but I must have been mistaken. So I get home and read the manual and it said it has it and is removeable. I pushed the igniton with my finger and sure enough it started with out the key fob in the ignition. So the other dealer must have taken the button off of it for some reason and didn't include it when they shipped the car to this dealer.
So I asked the dealer to get me the button for the ignition as it is supposed to come that way.
