Just bought a 2018 Citadel, 5.7 L

Will be towing a 19ft, 5400 GVWR travel trailer.

The Durango is equipped with "Trailer Sway Damping"

The trailer has mechanical sway bars available.

I have heard that I should NOT use the mechanical sway bars with a tow vehicle with Trailer Sway Damping factory installed.

Advice?

Also What about a weight distribution hitch?

I have never heard of not using sway bars with a vehicle equipped with sway control so cant really comment on that other than almost all vehicles out there used for towing now have sway control. As far as a weight distribution hitch, you Definitely should use that. Otherwise it puts all the tongue weight from your trailer directly on the back of your vehicle. I think it even recommends it in the owners manual to use a weight distribution hitch.
