I'm leaking transmission fluid just before the torque converter. It's coming out of a little plate that has a slight bend in it, looks like the bend is supposed to be there.

I thought I had filled it properly after servicing the transmission, but now I'm not so sure. The dipstick was reading full when I would let it run for 60 seconds in nuetral with the parking break set (instructions I found somewhere on the net). But when I would drive it, and check it when it was hot, it's waaay over full, every time.

Is it supposed to leak fluid from there, like an overflow of some sort, or does it just still have a trans leak?

I always checked mine when hot. If it was filled to the full mark cold, it's way overfull and some needs to be removed.

The tranny should be checked when hot in neutral on a flat surface. If it's reading full while cold then it is over filled.
