I've owned many dodge vehicles over the years. I've always thought they had the best and boldest styling.
Several years back, my wife and son were in my 1999 Ram and got into a very bad accident with a drunk driver. After that she refused to drive anything but a dodge. That truck saved her life. (the drunk driver paid with his though). So we started looking and fell in love with the style of the Durango. And the 7 passenger seating sealed the deal.
That Durango and us have been through alot together.
I've owned my Durango for about 3 weeks now and I'm a former Charger owner. I had to trade in my '11 Charger R/T after only 7 months of owning it due to back problems. I loved the Charger and would still have it if not for my bad back. Before the Charger i was an Infiniti owner for about 3 years, glad to be part of the MOPAR family though!!

Anywho...I digress. The choice was clear to me on the Durango, it's sleek for an SUV and has the tough look that screams MOPAR. I wanted the HEMI but had to settle on the V-6 due to ecomics, remember I only had my Charger for 7 months so i wasn't in a great situation. I got a sweet deal on my Durango Crew which I had the dealer at no cost to me put on the Citadel wheels which in my opinion makes it look even tougher!

My wife has a 2011 Challenger R/T Hemi so when I get the itch, I take her 6 speed out and have a blast!

I would recommend a Durango over any other SUV out there...that's my story.;)

Seems simple enough...thanks again!
WHy the Durango?

I feel in love with this car when i bought my Grand Cherokee a year ago. Then The wife says she wants a new car, and NOT another minivan, we have four small children from 7 months to 8 yrs old. So we went to dealer and traded the grand and the minivan for this Durango. We LOVE it. Hands down the best looking vehicle on the road. Ride is amazing, interior is way better than previous dodge products, you can see the diamler coming thru everywhere. I love the Dash, the cup holders, the illuminated door handles, and door bins. I love the engine, its got a great sound, and revvs high! I can go on all day! The Ford was the other one I looked at, just too " me Too " and poor towing, and it did not drive nearly as well. IMHO. I got the towing package as I have a pontoon boat, I love the load leveling suspension ( sweet feature) I really like the second row captains chairs and walk thru aisle. AWD, entertainment system, all for a fair and resonable price! No other vehicle would get me all that for what I paid, and look as cool doing it!

x2 I know exactly what you mean ;)
I guess you're preference depends on what you loved when you were growing up. I've always been a die hard Mopar guy. I've owned several Mopar vehicles. A 1998 Dodge Durango SLT, a 2004 Dodge Durango SLT, a 2010 Dodge Charger SXT and now a 2012 Dodge Durango R/T RWD. You have to love the brand and of all the SUV's, I've owned, the Durango provided the best ride, comfort, longevity, capacity and hauling ability. I was really disappointed with the 2004 Durango. It had the 4.7 that ran great up to 135,000 miles and the oil pump went out. Fried the motor and that was that. But that's a known issue with that particular motor. Had I of known, I would have opted for the Hemi but you have to love the brand and enjoy the vehicle. I'm a tall guy and after a 900 mile trip, I'm still feeling fresh and ready to go. Love my new Durango though. It is SWEET !!! :)

I was a ford/mercury loyal owner for years as I previously owned a 2000, 2002 and 2006 Mountaineer (Premier). After 6 years with my 2006 Mountaineer, it really started showing its age, not physically but mechanically. After spending over 2,500.00 on repairs over the last two years that I owned the mountaineer, I started to look for a replacement. Like you, my other option was a 2012 explorer. I must admit that the Durango was the only one that I extensively researched and the only one I took for a test drive. Prior of arriving at the dealership I already knew just about everything about the Citadel model . I was so impressed with the Citadel that It took less than a mile of the test drive for me to make my decision. SOLD!!!!. What a great SUV. As expected with some new cars I had a few issues like the radio freezing and popping on the steering column but both issues were quickly resolved by replacing the radio and the intermediate shaft. My Durango drives like a dream and I am pretty sure that I made the right decision. I really like the tons of compliments that I get . Just the other day I saw as a couple driving on the parking lot came to a dead stop next to my Citadel and explored every aspect of the of it for quite some time. It's a real head turner.

To tow my boat ! and the looks compared to other SUV's !
Why a Durango? Well, for my '99, it has an awesome body style, curves in all the right places. I just love the body. It has so much potential with after market parts to make it a mean 4X4 or dress it up to be looking just plain sick. I've always loved the Durango bodies, and I think Dodge has THE hottest car bodies, period. They know their curves!!!!!

I have the same emblem on my 2011 Durango Citadel. If you have the chrome grill, you will need to use epoxy to attach it. The clips on the new Dodge emblem I recieved did not line up with the old Dodge emblem on the grill.
